Renault Scenic Mk1 Windscreen Washer Pump Location

I am currently having the quite common problem of the rear windscreen washer not working on my Renault Scenic Mk1 (2001). The front works fine, but when I try to get the rear windscreen washer to work, the water instead comes out of the front ones and nothing from the rear at all.

I have took the rear tubing apart, cleaned it and pumped air into it to try and clear any blockages, but to no avail.

I understand that the next step is to look at the tubing from the pump. I have read various guides, but my one question is exactly where is the windscreen washer pump? Some guides mention removing the bumper and some say about the scuttle panel. Please can anyone clarify where I should be looking?

Thanks for your help.

Re: Renault Scenic Mk1 Windscreen Washer Pump Location

Do another search using "washer" & "pump", lots of threads regarding servicing the pump, don't discount the ones that aren't Scenic. Pump is in the bottom of the reservoir, which WILL benefit from a good clean out.
IIRC It's behind the O/s bumper, in the wheel arch, just remove the inner wing, which is less onerous than it sounds (2 or 3 diddy torx & some plaggy push in jobbies).
Happy Squirting.

Re: Renault Scenic Mk1 Windscreen Washer Pump Location

It's up under the R/H wing.

Yuo'll need to take out at least the rear section of wheel arch liner.
Not sure if you can get at the pump without dropping the bottle.

To drop the bottle, remove the nut holding the filler neck in the engine bay and pull out the neck.
There is a nut under the wing at the front of the bottle and it just hooks into a slot at the rear end.

Probably need to disconnect indicator on wing too.

Piccie is what you get if you drop it down.
