Apparently on Allegros (I don't know this is urban legend or not) if you jacked them up in exactly the right spot, the back window would pop out!

I never had one but my dad did. He thought it was terrible so bought another Maxi, he loved those old Maxi's. I was under the impression that Maxi's were just as bad as Allegro's though.

Yeah Allegro oblong steering wheel

Yeah some tyre fitters would not jack them up at one time

My worse car was an MG Metro Turbo (MLG 13Y). It was a right little pocket rocket, but I had the engine rebuilt 3 times!!
My only regret was getting rid of it because the bodywork was immaculate and I should have kept it for a future classic!

Or was it the Talbot Solara I had (need I say more?)

Currently in the coach man's garage:
Bloody big coach (460 BHP and under 8mpg) & Laguna I phase II 2.0 RXE (dimised) and a Ford Mondeo Ghia-X 2.5 V6 '99.

Yay, Talbot Solara! My Grandad had a beige one with Minx written on the side - a link to the old Rootes Hillman day's methinks .

I heared another old BL "fact" about some MG Metros - the anodised wheels were so slippery that if you hit the brakes hard enough the wheels would lock but the tyres would continue rotating around the wheels!!! Blimey, I hope that isn't true!

Currently in Bob925's garage:
2015 '65 Vauxhall Astra SRi, and a variety of "lovely" buses

If I ever become famous,I dread being called up for the Top Gear Star In A Reasonably Priced Car......not because of the lap round the track, but because of my car history!.

The worst was my first car,a Peugeot mum and dad gave it to me when I passed my test(it was either that or scrap it,and I was the cheap option). It was a dog,but it did end it's life in spectacular fashion when I barrel rolled's probably the best thing that could happened to that car.

I have also owned a lot of rusty Fords(Cortina mk5,Fiesta mk1,Escort mk2 and 3.....but never a Sierra thank God!),a few dodgy VW's(4 Sciroccos),a Mazda 323 (mine was the only unreliable car to leave Japan) and a load of other junk......

Not a great history as you can see.....

2004 Saab 9-5 HOT Aero and a 2001 Audi A3 1.8 Turbo
