I once had a BMW 635CSi
It was my dream car and I bought one with my heart rather than my head.

I bought it in London where it had spent most of its life. I gave it a damn good thrashing on the way up the road to Scotland and everything worked fine except one dipped headlamp!

The next day I took it out and it blew its head gasket!

It took 3 weeks to get that fixed. The day I got it back on the road it broke down again. This time because of a faulty fuel pump.

I had that fixed before discovering that the footwell in the rear was about 2 inches deep in water! There was a rusty hole in the boot floor about the size of a fist! I got that patched.

The speedo stopped working and needed a new cable from the sender to the dash.

The kickdown on the autobox stopped working and needed a new cable.

I replaced 2 tyres as one was about to burst!

Whilst it was up on the ramps I had a look underneath and discovered another hole in the floor and that the entire exhaust system had been botched and was a home made effort. We surmised that the car had ran over something, ripping most of the underside on the way.

I then managed to get about a month of normal driving out of it before the big ends went.
This was the final straw and I had the car scrapped!

A beautiful car that was a dream to drive when it was working, but seemed to be off the road more than it was on it.

Can't find my old reply amongst these 43 pages so I'll just update my worst car here....

FIAT BRAVO. What a heap of &*@%. Got it for 760, 2 weeks later the gearbox blew itself away costing me 340 to get fixed, month later after that the oil pump packed up and had the rocker box sqealing like a pig. Mechhie looked at it and said the engine would never run again. Offered me 100 for it, took it, signed it over to him and gave him the keys.

Then he took off the rocker box cover poured tons of oil all over the parts put the cover back and drove it away

While I hated that motor for being such a pain in the grass I felt gutted that the engine still pulled the damn thing away..

I will NEVER touch another fiat again.

EDIT forgot to mention the new brake pads, and several other bits that were paid for to get the heap working. Spent about 1200 on that heap in total just to get 100 for it

WOW 43 pages! I started a big thread I am the bandwidth king

Delta, I said I'd never owna fiat again after my Punto. Paid 4k for it, R reg 1.2 SX R731AOU ran it for 4 years, Sump rotted from the inside out?! Clutch went weird, All the springs snaped but it still pulled!? My mechanic was amased! Lost 1st, 3rd and 5th as a bolt fell out the day I needed to go to leister to play with a ferrari!

Crap build quality, Crap electrics that make french electrics look perfect but saved me an a now ex from a 70mph aua-plane into a crash barrier, Only needed a new wing, bumper, indicator and bending the wishbone back!

Still loved it in a way. But Much prefered my cars since then!
