Have you considered an alternative to buying diesel? You will still have to pay a premium for what could turn out to be a bottomless pit (as Lagdti rightly pointed out).
What I'm suggesting is a conversion to LPG if your V6 is in good nick and you are happy with it. After all, a 52 reg isn't that old and should be rather nice if you've been looking after it.
Yes it costs (so does a diesel, mind), but if you are doing enough miles to warrant changing to diesel, I think the gas conversion might save you even more pennies. I understand, they come out at around £1600. There are some threads on this forum you could search for more information.
