Flat Battery

Hi All,

My wifes car is a Scenic Automatic with the battery under the drivers seat. It is flat, as a squashed pancake !!!

Can I connect jumpleads at all? Or I believe it is possible to 'bump-start' an auto in some way.

Definately have a read of the manual Russell. Bump starts are, IIRC, not very good for the catalytic convertor. There must be some way of getting leads in there somehow...

Never heard of bump starting an auto, Imust admit I thought it was an absolute nono.
I've seen a jump starter advertised that works thro' the cigar lighter - don't know how effective it is.
Suprised you can't get a normal jump lead to the battery (we've even managed this on a Seaking rescue helio :-) ) but if not is there no way of using the jump leads under the bonnet via a good earth point and the battery lead to the starter motor ?

I bump started an old auto - but simply coz I was getting it to the garage for it's final part-ex so didn't care!

BUT - it's not recommended, so avoid if you can!
