A good wash with hot soapy water and cold rinse - then a dry off with a chamois and then a final lick with a scrim cloth.

Isn't the original question related to the inside of the windscreen?

I had some really bad sticky marks on the Gal when I got her. What really worked well with minimum hassle was a microfibre cloth, took the sticky right off without any detergent etc and they were only 1 for four for Poundland

I have a real problem over my windscreen, i think id a slight OCD.

Recently bought some 'screenies' which advertise smear free...erm i think not, and the fact i like a crystal clean windscreen, driving round in the sun etc really gets to me. Not just in my car either, if someone is driving with smear marks i have to look the other direction, even with the screen wash, i HATE with a passion when it slowly starts to dripple down the screen

But deffo going to try some spirts and newspaper!
