Windscreen Sensor Problem - I Think

I have just bought a low milage Laguna II (02 plate) 2.0 IDE Dymanique. From what i can gather these come with automatic headlights that switch theirselves on for when it gets dark and rain sensored front wipers(I think), the car DOES have the sensor at the top of my windscreen but both of these fail to work!.
I have tried to put wipers in the intermitant posistion but still no joy. Was adviced to place my hand over the sensor whilst the engine is running to see if the lights come on but i have had no joy. There has been no indication that the screen has been replaced-which was one of my other thoughts.
Any help from any of you wise and wonderful people would be great. Thanks Gav...

Welcome to the forum.

I'm not sure if the Dynamique comes with these features, but hopefully another Lag 2 owner can help you out.

You probably have the rain sensor wipers (second stalk position) but I doubt if you have auto headlamps. I have the Privilige, and I don't have auto headlamps.

Early laguna II didn't come with auto lights, only wipers, when you put the stalk to the intermittent position the wipers shoulp wipe once to signify operation, then try chucking some water on the sensor, if they dont wipe once then there is a fault.
