An independent garage that I gave a try as it was recommended on the Honest John website. Not Renault-specific, but having used them 3 times so far (including the dreaded 72k service) I've found them to be excellent, with very reasonable prices. Guys behind the service desk and in the workshop are very friendly and helpful, and I've never had any issue with either the service or the work performed.

Sales staff very polite & helpful, but poor p/ex prices and not willing to negotiate that much.
Parts/Service - very helpful, polite and knowledgeable. Despite not buying car from them, they quite happily sorted a minor warranty fault and quite happily service the vehicle for us. Car has been washed on both occassions.
Loads of offroad parking in dedicated carpark at rear of premises.
Free - nearly new clean courtsey cars provided, with an optional £5 accident XS waiver ( otherwise £500 xs).

Pleasant waiting area, with free tea/coffee/chilled water, loads of recent magazines to suit all tastes, tv and kids toys/play area.

Also an MG/Rover dealer ( handy when on holiday in Cornwall selwonk).
They have another branch at Summercourt but our experience there with sales ( basically ignored us- despite making an appointment) made us try their Scorrier branch although the Summercourt branch is a lot closer to home.

Currently in SportTourer's garage:
2010 Laguna III SportTourer Initiale Tom Tom.

Thanks for the recommendations folks. I'll start a front page article dealing with this after categorising dealers by area...

I have a 2002 laguna tourer 2.2 dci which kept going into limp mode on the motorway or with high revs and having been to my local dealer 3 times, yes 3 times and saying they cannot fix it.
Renault manchester came up trumps firstly they found the fault right away , which incidentley was a faulty EGR valve but to my suprise on picking the car up, they had not only washed it but gave it a mini valet and it smells like brand new inside. hows that for service. it didn't even cost me a penny luckily i have an extended warranty.
I shall be accused of being a prophet of doom but you need to ask yourself why the EGR valve was faulty! In the majority of cases with 2.2dCis it has become gummed up due to oil passing through the turbo seals and then being burnt. The exhaust gases once condensed leave a residue in the EGR valve that causes it to stick.

As such I advise you to keep your ears and eyes open - ears for the sound of a whistling turbo and eyes for smoke. If the engine develops a flat spot or any hesitation get on to your dealer immediately and say that you are concerned about the turbo .

It's better to be safe than sorry !
