Exploding Rear Windscreen on Renault Megane

Just quietly driving in local suburbs (no vandals) and suddenly a "POP" sound and the back windscreen is shattered. The Car is less than 6 months old. The Renault dealership who were very please to take my money were less happy to discuss the possibility of a design fault or poor workmanship. Their reply was to suggest it was a stone. A stone from where!!! Has anybody ever had a rear windscreen shatter by a stone. The front a can understand. I really think this is due to the shape of the glass or poor workmanship. I am dusgusted with my Renault Dealerships attitude. I will be taking this up with head office.

I would be interested if anyone else has had a similar problem

Renault HQ (not the dealership) have agreed to refund the 50 I paid to autoglass. 20/1/2006
