Maybe, but also there's the massive devaluation in the first few years. Burning money would be a slower way to lose it!

I agree, go used and get more for your money, better specs for a lower price. Unless its a company car or your a number plate snob (which a private plate can cure) then dont buy new buy used.

If you still want to part with more money burn it, or even better give it me.

There are definitely deals to be done - especially if you are not that fussed about colour - get an online quote from someone like autobytel and use this as bargaining power at a dealership. I just got more than 2k knocked of a clio campus sport - petrol rather than deisel - with metallic and cd thrown in - as well as a full warranty - I had originally enquired about a couple of pre registered cars they had, but was using the expired warranty and on-line quote as a bargaining tool, when they came back with the deal on an unregistered model they had received for the showroom. I think they are trying to get deals through before the end of the financial year. That was Arnold Clarks btw.

If you're going for new then make sure it is black!

Haggle - it is after all an "old new" car

The Vauxhall Cavalier - one of the safest cars you'll bump into

2015 '65 Vauxhall Astra SRi, and a variety of "lovely" buses
