Somebody must buy them, The take up in Britain is quite small compared to the rest of Europe not sure if the pricing has something to do with that.

I've used a range of different branded Diesels, performance and standard, and can honestly say I have noticed no difference whatsoever, apart from the increased cost of a tank!

BP Ultimate - I used several tanks of this consecutively and there were no MPG benefits, if there were any performance benefits they're probably far too small to quantify in day-to-day driving.
Shell V-Power - Again, several tanks were used, economy didn't improve and neither did performance.

I've tried standard Diesels from Esso, BP, Shell, Total, Sainsbury's, Morrisons and Asda, and my car has not performed any different on any of them. Needless to say I now always run on Sainsbury's or Morrisons, whichever of the two near me is cheapest or has the best points-based offers...

On Petrol, I got MPG and performance gains using Optimax or V Power if I was flush.

Premium derv does nothing for me, And Asda derv my car struggles to run!

I went to my local Shell garage to fill up 106.9 L and as normal people were queueing to get to the pumps one became available so I went and commenced filling mine up. Whilst it was filling I glanced at the small price indicator and noticed that it said 112.9 L did a few double takes at this point and noticed a small label on the pump which said VPower. Meant nothing special to me but was beginning to have suspicions so terminated the fill.
On paying I asked the cashier about it and she confirmed the difference in price.
I haven't bothered doing the maths but I believe you would be very hard pressed to justify that sort of price increase so would have to get a much improved consumption to do so.
Will keep an eye out in future.
