cheers guys,
I'd like to do the access course so I could my dream bike, the Yamaha Virgo, either the 535 / 750 or the 1100, i'm not fussy but I just can't afford it. My brother in law has an R6 which he got after passing his access course and it scares me to see him riding as he's a maniac on it, not for me, I'm a crusier 'born to be wild' theme tune springs into mind LOL

I'm with pragmatix - do the course on one of their bikes and then buy your own choice. One of my mates did this a couple of years ago on several Saturday mornings, if you're trying to spread the cost a bit.

You'll get VERY bored driving a 125cc machine. Sure it'll get you into town but think about even going on a dual carriageway where you're struggling to keep up with the traffic etc - and it's even worse with the slightest breath of wind. A 500cc or so machine is almost as easy to drive as a 125 but you can drive on motorways or with passengers without worrying about your lack of power. You'll also get a much nicer looking bike - in my opinion the 125's you mention above don't look the part whatsoever. Even have a look at Harleys - you'll be surprised how cheap they are to run and insure - and that orgasm you have every time you drive it is worth the extra cash spent.

Good luck with whatever way you go.

Good luck with the test

I sat the direct access a few years ago, but as yet can't justify the expense of a bike. The missus doesn't drive so I don't see the point of having either the bike or the car sat doing nothing.

Now if only I can convince her to pass the driving test ...........

I think I have CDO. It's like OCD, but with ALL THE LETTERS IN THE RIGHT ORDER
