Well I wouldhope to get it off the forcourt before it broke down In all seriousness I had a 19 that made it to 115,000 and a 16 in the eighties that made 90.000 before it disapeared in to a pile of rust.

Our Laguna has done 23,000 trouble free miles - which by some Renualt Laguna standards is very high mileage.
I would expect to get at least 60k-70k before things started to need replacing ( brakes, tyres excepted) and more like 100k for major breakdowns - I am probably being too optimistic tho. We will probably only keep the Laguna for 5 yrs so will be getting rid with about 60k tho.

We had an old K reg Clio 1.9 diesel that had done 66k and apart from tyres, brakes and middle exhaust section it never went wrong. Still relatively low miles tho.

I got my first Laguna up to about 120K without a single major fault. The water pump sprung a leak once, but only after a piece of motorway debris hit it, so I don't really count that.
The second one hit 118K (I took a record of the exact mileage.) It had a gearbox re-build at 101K and was plagued by various leaks ( oil , power steering etc.) throughout its life. I thought the car was a lemon until the one that followed. The new owner has done another 20K in it since, and in that time it's needed very little doing to it.
The third one only got to 84K. It too needed a replacement gearbox (at around 70K I think) though I think that was secondary to one of its numerous oil leaks. Other major problems included injector and sensor faults, and failure of the power steering rack and pump.
The fourth one's up to 7K so far. No serious problems to report yet, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

This is my first Renault and it has 14.000 kms on it yet.
I always try to sell my cars before 100.000 so I have 86.000 kms to go.
