Renault Executive cars...

Well as most know I drive a Safrane Questor... enough of that though....

Today whilst waiting at the top of my road, a very rare sight occured for the average motorist. As well as me being sat there in the saffy, at one set of traffic lights was a Vel Satis, and at the other was a Avantime!

I couldn't beleive it. 3 of Renaults most tooled up gadget cars within 50 yards of each other! Until today I'd only ever seen the Avantime but never the Vel Satis.

I don't really even know why I'm posting this... I was just very excited!

Oh.. and then about a mile up the road I saw another 2.5 saffy the same colour as mine!

What a treat I've had today!

Any Avantime or Vel satis drivers wanna tell me the gadgets their cars have???

Blimey a rare sight indeed! I have never seen an Avantime or Vel Satis "in the flesh" which is hard to understand considering the mileage I do each year. I know they are rare but not that rare. I have seen precious few Safranes too, though a guy up the road owns one

Strangely enough I too saw some rare motors. I saw four Ford P100 pickups in the space of an hour (all different ones!) Haven't seen a P100 in years. Anyway...

Avantime gadgets -

Full leather, heated seats, lumbar support etc.

Traction Control, ESP

Climate Control

The biggest sunroof of any production car - not sure if it still is!

The "Big Air" button - press it and all windows drop and sunroof goes back - pillarless windows!! Great in a traffic jam!

Remote Control for the stereo - very useful when your arms don't work!

3 Litre V6 with Auto Gearbox - be afraid it's Renault and when it goes wrong - very expensive!

For the Vel Satis;

ESP & ABS & Traction Control

Cruise Control (with Speed Limiter function)

Sat Nav

Electric Memory seats

Full Leather

5-speed Auto (with tiptronic over-ride)

Electrically adjustable folding mirrors

Dual zone climate control

18" alloys with tyre pressure sensors

6 CD in-dash autochanger

That's most things that spring to mind, plus the automatic jaw-drop function on other road users when they spot one!

This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
