My New Laguna 1998

Hi All,

I've just got a 1998 Laguna 2.0 automatic, and I posted a couple of questions, but no answers have come, so here are some new questions:

Is my car a very unusual model that very few people have?

Is it possible to download an owners manual from the internet for this old model?

I've found out that my car has 4 gears, but I still don't know if the change RPM into top can be adjusted?

My wife is having trouble with the keyless entry. I've changed the batteries in both, and they still appear to be very unreliable. Is this a known problem, and is there a special place that these things to be aimed at, to open and close the doors?

Re: My New Laguna 1998

I had a 98 Lag 1 & also had an Haynes manual, which from what I recall covered all variants.

Quick heads up, sorry our rules don't allow links to nookie copyright protected materials it causes too many problems to the forum.

The range of the keycard transmitters varies greatly- one of ours has to be a few feet away, the other will open the car from Berkshire. I believe the receiver is in the rear-view mirror module.

Re: My New Laguna 1998

the front part of the overhead lights.switch unit has the RF\IR sensor, grip it and push forward and it will unclip.
clean the connector and contacts, dust out the dead bugs which like to call it home and it should work ok.

under the drivers side dash(facing the door when closed) is where the central locking controller is located. its a small black box clipped between the fusebox and the side of the dash. it has 2 cables (blue and black) clipped into it. it is notorious for collecting damp and condesation and then going on the fritz. take it out and unclip the cover and get it dried out. spraying conformal coating (laquer) from maplins to seal the components will seal it from water.

Spare parts available for 2001 Scenic 1.9Dci, 97 Lag1, 02 Lag2.
