, this false feeling of safety is also why many drivers feel so invincible that they treat other road users with disdain.
As a mature / experienced rider of many years, I've almost been wiped out scores of times by the 'I'm sorry I didn't see you'
brigade. I suppose I could keep off my bike and ensure a longer life, but surely it's not too much to ask that drivers acknowledge the existence of other road users and drive safely?
And before this becomes a flaming contest

a wild rider and I have
had to develop eyes in the back of my head in order to survive.
Why don't all car drivers do the same? Possibly because they feel safe inside their tin boxes.
