Hello,

I took delivery of a new Kadjar in December.
Since owning the car i have had to sort out a false alarm issue myself by making some adjustments to the interior sensors. And now ALL the extra large wheel arch mouldings that came with the adventure pack(£798) are coming away from the car. 3 peices had already fallen off!
3 weeks ago i took it back to the dealer where i bought it and asked they take a look. They agreed they were de-bonding. So it was booked in for the bodyshop to take a look. I asked if the pieces that were left can be removed completely and replaced with the mouldings that are on all standard Kadjars. when i collected the car they told me the body shop were concerned about paint damage if they removed the other bits, but will try when i take it back because they would have to order the parts but, because it's a new model they will have to come from france and will take 7-10 days, i will get a call me when they are in. Anyway, after waiting a week i decided to go and speak to someone in the bodyshop, where they told me they haven't ordered any parts they were waiting for the service manager to give the ok and taking off the mouldings would be a simple job! So who is lying? anyway the bodyshop manager called the service dept. to find out what is happeniing..upshot is...i have to call renault customer services. that was a week ago and i'm still waiting for this to be resolved. oh and i had to provide photos as the dealer didn't take any.
What a shabby way to be treated...What can i do now, finance company? legal route?

Think you need to give dealer one last chance to rectify faults ..The way I would do this is write a letter or email to dealer and Renault and your finance company stating the problems along with photographic evidence and saying you want the repairs carried out within 28 days and see what transpires
This is a problem when new models get launched you have numerous teething problems dealers are unsure of how to rectify the problems ..been there and rejected 2 MK2 clios when they got launched

I will be giving them one chance to get it sorted. Renault customer services have called me back and they too got the runaround from this dealers service team apparently. they have now agreed to order new parts and fit free of charge, as a goodwill gesture, that's Renualt uk, not the dealer.
Complete shambles

In all honesty find when you go straight to Renault customer services they are good at resolving problems ...when I rejected 2nd Clio they and Reg Vardy came to a deal to swap car for a pre. Reg Megane Rt Sport ..57 miles on it ..when suggested I thought the catch is? but no catches just said I have been a Loyal Renault custmer

Yup, Renault Cust Services can be quite good.
You have the option of using another main dealer as trust in the first will have disappeared.

Do put in a formal complaint to them, like I said before, address to MD (or whoever is boss) and if a chain, CEO of chain, copy to Renault Services.

so you paid £700 odd quid for a adventure pack to replace the original arches and now they will put them back for no charge!! So are they refunding the £700 odd back too?

Apart from illegal (unsafe/sharp parts), words from Consumer Protection Act come to mind like "Fit for Purpose"

Photos, Email them to Renault customer service.....
And don't let cost of £700 for the adventure pack slide, detail it now.
Keep everything in writing. Notes of conversations, telephone calls, dates, times, names, everything logged down.

Remember, with complaints/disputes, if it isn't in writing it didn't happen.
Anything not logged is worth the paper it is written on. Zilch, Zero, Nada, Nuffink.

At present you must emphasise the safety issues with the car ...what if a part falls off fouling wheel, injures a passer by? you as the driver are liable not them

They need to come get it ASAP and leave you a courtesy car as you are now without it ...Whilst without car make a note of inconvenience caused ..should you use bus or taxi keep receipts BUT remember you must keep costs to a minimum
Also you may wish to call dealer explaining the above stating you are considering hiring a car(within reason, not a bentley) to keep mobile
