Carrying bikes

I purchased a 54 plate Meganne Sport Tourer earlier this year, and am faced with one issue - how to carry bikes.

The top of the tailgate is plastic - so i can`t used my old bike carrier, which works with metal clips and pressure - it would rip the top of the tailgate off.

Other racks seem to need some sort of sideways anchorage - as the tailgate glass extends all the way to the side this is nto adviseable.

So, i`m left with the roof or getting a towbar fitted. We need to carry 4 bikes, 2 adult and 2 kids/youths.

Any suggestions as to the best solution, that isn`t going to cost an arm and a leg...

Either go for roof if cheap is needed or investigate getting dumbells for the straps.
They fit on the end of the webbing straps and then anchor inside the boot not on the outer edge

Hi Dave

There are a bunch of threads on cycle carriers, try the search tool in the orange bar above.

Just a thought though, could you fix your existing carrier straps to a roof bar?
