Front or Rear?

It seems to be the time of the year to start threads on silly things!

What drive to members prefer, Front wheel or rear wheel and for what reason?

I know there has been front wheel drive before the Mini came out but the only reason the Mini was front wheel drive (and started the craze for front wheel drive) was so the engine could be mounted transversaly so giving more room in the passenger compartment.

Personally, I prefer FWD.

I have no interest in going backwards into a hedge, and I prefer the "predictability" of FWD cars.

Plus, it p*sses off the RWD zealots, so that's an added bonus.

I love FWD 'cos you can hoon around with relative impunity and play with lots of understeer. I've never owned a RWD car mind, so I'm a bit biased

I like front engine front wheel drive or rear engine rear wheel drive . The company who declare all there cars are rear wheel drive (whilst having front engines) have cars mostly driven by w***kers anyway!! (Remember I live near Longbridge Birmingham!)

I prefer front wheel drive for everyday hooning fun.

I used to have a Volvo V40 T4 which had 200 horses through the front wheels, it was great fun spinning the wheels through 3rd!

To have fun in a rear wheel drive car you look like a nutter although there's nothing to beat drifting and doughnuts on a track!
