I moved out to overtake a long line of traffic in my trusty 1.2 Clio. A Lotus Elise had to slow behind me but he backed off to show understanding of my situation.

By the time I cleared the line, the poor Elise had some **** flashing him madly. As I pulled in, the Elise blasted past and also pulled in. The luxury BMW flew past us all at breakneck speed.

However, up ahead was a massive twist in the dual carriageway ( some roundabouts had been closed to right turns ) and the Elise outbraked, undertook and out accelerated the BMW in these swings.

The Elise then - very smartly I reckon - pulled over to the left again, about 300 yards ahead of the BMW. There was no match in accleration at all.

Man, did that BMW clown lose it or what!!! He must have floored it totally because all he did was flash and barge everyone out of the way to get past the Elise....the driver of which was now doing a sedate 55 mph, and who remained in the left lane until the BMW was out of sight.

Point made in a classy way by the Elise driver, I say.

Bloody beautiful car too, that Lotus!
