Renault Clio 1.5 DCi 86

Any tips on what I can do to get my car over 100bhp? Cheap alternatives that is.

There is no cheap solution if you plan on telling your insurance company.
If you consider a re-map or tuning chip as too expensive then there is not much scope nowadays. How about a white stripe down the sides and some LED lighting (sorry just kidding).

cheapest way would probably be to trade your car in for a 1.5 106 model.

Insurance company would be ok and it wouldn't involve any dodgy mod that may come back and bite you in the a**(wallet) .

I would avoid all the so called "wonder" gadgets available.
Superflow air filters, magnetic clip ons to the fuel lines et al.

Rolling road and remap is probably most economical way of upping power without buying a new car.
But as said, insurance is likely to sky rocket.
For some reason, mod the motor to bring power up is deemed an expensive risk while buying the same car with a more powerful engine isn't
Currently in Dancingdad's garage:
Qashqai 1.6 spark driven, Kia Sedona 2.9 TDI, Scenic II 15DCi 2004 (SORN) not quite RIP.
