What you have to realise with the powers that be and
I worked with them for many years, is that they think
they are too far up the food chain to be bothered about
what you and I think or know, and that we are too thick or
frightened to even complain, it's a long time ago now
but one at least of our road designers did not have a
driving license, and others only used pedal cycles it's
most likely why we now have miles of unused cycle ways
narrowing roads and pushing other road users into
single file NR the middle of the road were head on
collisions are more likely.
No I am not a boy racer and do stick baring mistakes to
the law, at NR 60 years old self preservation is still high on
my priorities, I have driven many hundreds of thousands
of miles in or on things form a 50cc moped to a heavy
haulage vehicle plated at over 90 tons, it's just that
I see my safety zone being chipped away to justify congestion charging and road pricing.
Speaking of Police camera action, if you see the clip
that shows 3 horses on the Motorway the big black
bugger with the white blaze was mine but the incident
happened just just before I bought him.

Last week they repeated an episode that featured an ex colleague of mine. He was shown haring around a blind bend to be confronted by a police car in the middle of the road escorting a wide load. The footage shows the police car doing a three point turn to find his car (or should I say his mum's car!) facing the opposite direction having spun 180 degrees and him staggering out of the car holding his chest! Didn't slow him down at all though. He's had at least three crashes since. Ironically he now works as an insurance assessor!

the most dangerus (sp?) road in britain had 21 mortorcycalist deaths over 36 months?

the Whitby - Guisbrough road near me (A171), had about 51 deaths over 36 months a cuple of years ago. theres a sign saying thats a 51% or so improvement over the 3 years before it

Police!camera!Action! on again tonight, another re-run of previous clips bundled together as "The most dangerous chases.

Silly commentary.......One dangerous chase showed the police recovering a stolen Morris Minor which the owner saw in an advert, no chase at all.

Showed a stolen Porsche doing 150mph, the commentator said it's no chance of out running the Chilterns helicopter. Yes it has, the top speed of the EC135T helicopter which the Chilterns use is 143mph.

Rubbish programme again.

A problem well stated is a problem half solved !
