Dangerous roads

If you are/have watched police Camera action this evening and they are going on about dangerous roads and the eurorap stats here they are http://www.eurorap.org/library/pdfs/..._High_Risk.pdf

My thought are roads are not dangerous if you look and obey the rules, drivers are the dangerous element

The older I get the better I was, must be mad not got enough money to be excentric

you deserve some rep points for that straight talking answer you are very correct only drivers make road dangerous not cars I mean if someone drove a car down a back country lane at 100 mph but the limit was 40 then you the driver have made the road dangerous for anyone coming the other way

What I do think are dangerous roads are were
they put pinch points these stick out into the
road and judging by the lumps missing from
them catch out many drivers, fine in good weather
but a night mare in a strange town on a wet night.
these often force vehicles into head on confrontation
and even if you have the right of way you never
know what the actions of other drivers may be.
I fully realise that these and other measures are
intended to grind traffic to a stop, after all to put
on a congestion charge first you need congestion
but to kill people just to subsidise the council tax
does seem a little unsporting.

I see the A259 Hastings - Eastbourne road is on there.... Rather strange seeing as I've travelled that route a LOT in my life and never once seen a accident scene there.

Still, good to know its a dangerous road I suppose.... unlike the A21 which has blues and twos daily...

The A537 Cat and Fiddle is about half an hour away from me. This is the road highlighted as the most dangerous on the TV show earlier. Well it is if you are reckless - it is a great driving road and as far as I was aware the worse dangers are the bl00dy sheep all over the place! Plenty of bikers do use that road and in the most part they are all very sensible, with the odd exception. But the same goes for car drivers. I have seen plenty of cars down ditches along that road. IMO the nearby A53 is a much more dangerous road, and is also a lot more fun to drive.

I use both the Cat and the A53 very often. Hustling a LWB van along them both is a great laugh - safely of course
