Sad to say Renault don't usually include changing the timing (or cam) belt during a routine service. I suggest you see written evidence such as a receipt for the belt being changed - it just ain't worth the risk. If the belt was to break with the likley resulting engine damage it could cost nearly as much as the car is worth to repair. If it requires the belt, etc replaced the cars value could be around £500 less.
Do you know why he/she is selling the car??
