Seeing 2CVs

I was on holiday in France and - aside from the usual kick of seeing loads of old-style Twingos and even one or two Avantimes driving around - I saw on the Metro in Paris an exhibition of 2CVs being advertised. So I went along.

The exhibition is at the Cite des Sciences et de l'Industrie on the north side of the city, and it's supposed to be celebrating 60 years of the 2CV. I went with a French friend and she did some translating of information for me, but there's quite a lot in English for monoglots like me.

The exhibition itself doesn't have a charge, but you have to pay to get into the museum.

I know these cars aren't Renaults, but Citroen have - I reckon - come up with some great cars too, and I thought I'd mention the exhibition in case anyone finds themselves in Paris and it would be their kind of thing. It's on till November.

Citroen have been at the forefront for decades. Their cars have always been superb. I say a beautiful DS the other day. BMW are developing a new system to cast the headlights to illuminate the corner you are turning into. Wonder where they got that dea from!

Anyone that has had to replace the handbrake pads or a set of points on a 2CV will hate the flaming things as much as I do.

They have all dissapeared over the last few years though......

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....

Rusted to death presumably? Funnily enough, my parent's friends managed to buy the last one built for the UK market for their daughter. Yellow and white striped canvas roof. Classy!
