trip computer - no current consumption entry

According to the manual with my new Grand Scenic the trip computer is meant to have an entry called "Current Fuel Consumption" this doesn't seem to be present, but the "Average Fuel Consumption" value is.
I asked the dealer and they checked another vehicle and it didn't seem to have it either. All the other entries seem to be present - is this a feature that is no longer present - it is quite useful to check the consumption at cruising speed.

If we had a FAQ, I reckon this one would be top of the list. Having said that, I've tried to find links to other discussions and can't find the one I wanted.

Apparently the 'instantaneous economy' figure is there if the trip computer is configured for litres and kilometers, but not if it's set up for miles and gallons. The feature made it through to the English translation of the manual, even though none of the UK spec cars have it.
