What a couple of days I've had !! Took the car to a garage, that I will not name, it was diagnosed as the brake servo. Asked for a price for repairing, and at the same time asked for a price for a full service and the Timing Belt to be changed.

He came back with a rediculous price of 900.00 all in !!

Went to another garage, that was recommended by a member of my family and to have the same work done, 400 cheaper.

Can somebody tell me how garages can charge whatever they want for labour and get away with it ????

Hi everyone, it's been a while since I posted, but I need some advice please.

I have Dci '02 Scenic and yesterday it started hissing from the brake peddle in the foot well. It only stops when you press the brake, but if sat at the lights, for example, you can feel the pedal slowly drop away.

What is it guys ?? Is there a brake servo on these ??

Your advice or if anyone has experianced this would be greatfully appreciated.

hello , I have a similar problem , I own a 1993 espace and when I first start it in the morning (and only first thing) it makes a hissing noise although the pedal doesnt see stiff
then I put my foot on it and it makes a "pop" sound like the thing kids (and some adults) do with their finger in their mouths (you know what I mean) , does anybody know a quick, easy ,cheap fix for this , my mechanic friend said something about a seal not returning under the pedal , would appreciate help ,thanks.

how did you get on? My Vel Satis has now developed the same problem, although the hissing (following braking) appears to come from the centre console housing / passenger side foot well.

Would be interested in knowing what the result of yours was.
