I have owned a Scenic 1.6 VVT trouble free but have now got myself a tidy little Modus 1.5 DCI.
She has 61+ and an 06 plate.
Unfortunately there was no service booklet and I have had the cambelt done along with an oil change.
Could you please let me know what the service interval on this model are.
Also I have developed an injection fault and wish to replace my injector.
Is this a simple get a new one and replace myself?

Renault service intervals on the 1.5dci are 18K but many suggest oil and filter at far less, 10-12K is common.
Cam belt 70K or 5 years whichever comes first.
Though Renault seem to be stretching that to 6 years on some models.

Before you start replacing injectors, Injection fault means there is something amiss with fuel circuit and could be as simple as a blocked filter or an air leak.
What symptoms have you got apart from the error message?

As I bought her with no service history I changed cam at 61000.
Had an oil change done shortly after.

Spanner light is on and when she goes over 2k in revs the stop light comes on and puffs smoke out until I reduce revs.
Lately she has been using more diesel and smoke from start to finish with delayed hot starting.

If blanked, EGR has no purpose.
Purpose of blank is to stop EGR from letting exhaust gasses back into inlet manifold.
The system is supposed to reduce Nitrous Dioxide emissions from engines.

Electrical EGR on many (I think all) Renault 1.5DCIs are embedded into inlet manifold and cannot be easily blanked with a plate.
But can be turned so opening and closing has no effect. Can't get all three fixing pins in but....

It has been awhile and an update is due.
My car is back tonight and after having #1 and 3 injectors fixed all is good.
Been on a test by garage but I'll take her to work tomorrow and burn out the cob webs.

Moral of the story. When you take it to a "reputable" garage in Loughborough and they quote £2000.00 to fix, look upon it with scepticism.

I replaced the fuel filter and saw no signs of contamination. Fuel pump said "remanufactured" so had injectors tested. 2 Faulty and £100.00 to replace and £200.00 for labour making it a £1700.00 saving.

Thanks once again for advice :)
