Another question is why do Witter say "including 16V 2.0L"
Instead of just "not 4x4" ????
They dont /wont say when asked?

Hi again,

No, that wasn't needed - I only removed it to make access easier for tightening the fixings.

Bit of a puzzle,I wonder how renault would fit it as they use the same bar and fittings?
I suppose I could get a mechanic to drill a hole for me,but to do that would be near impossible as tank and all would have to come of to get near an angle required.
I am wondering if a 2003 model may fit?

I took a ‘Towequipe’ tow-bar off my 1996, 2L, 8V Scenic and tried to fit it to my (now) 2000 2.0L 16V Sport Alize.
The instructions said you had to use different ‘captured’ nuts, the older car had ‘T’ style and the newer was supposed to use ‘caged’ style but, the holes were too big for these!
I queried it with them and they did not have an answer apart from sending links to a more detailed set of fitting instructions and stating that they only used / supplied these 2 styles of nuts!

I managed to drill / grind slotted holes to take the T style nuts – you will need to find someone with a straight air drill as this will fit up in there.

The heat shield needs bending out of the way to get to a couple of nuts / clear the tow-bar link arm

Hope that’s of some help!
