Grand Scenic Oasis - Equipment & Options ?

Been out today and brought a 2006 Grand Scenic 1.6 VVT Oasis ( 56 reg. ).
Picking it up in a few days after it has been serviced and the car tax has been sorted.
It has the Panoramic Fixed Sunroof with sunblinds , Hands free op Renault card + electric folding door mirrors as it should have.
According to Parkers website ( ) , it should also have an alarm and a CD Multi-changer as standard , but the salesman told me that it does not have these 2 items.
I did not know at the time I brought the car what I should and should'nt have as standard , it was'nt until I got home and had a look at the Parkers website that I found out.
If my car is an Oasis and these 2 items were a standard fitting where have they gone from my car ?
Can I insist on them being fitted , to bring the car back to standard specification ?

One last thing I hope someone can help me with.
When we got home and tried to set up the Renault 7 days free insurance over the phone with Norwich Union ( as we were asked to do by the guy at Renault ) , when we gave them the registration number of the car it did'nt appear on their system.
My missus rang our insurance company ( Churchills ) and tried to change our insurance to the new car too and they could'nt find the car on their system either.
The guy at the Renault dealer did'nt know what was going on because he said when he HPI'ed it everything was fine.
I went onto the DVLA website and checked Vehicle Details on there and it comes up on there.
Does anybody have any idea what the bl@@dy hell is going on and should I be worried ( is the car moody ) ???

Hi there.

A couple of reasons for what you've experienced spring to mind;

regarding the spec - it could be a 'mis-build' where a couple of items have been missed out, but only the original owner would be able to claim for either the loss in value or for the items to be retro-fitted. You haven't been mis-sold the car, as the salesman informed you prior to purchase that these items weren't fitted...

It could also be a slightly older model (built before a spec-change), and then registered as brand-new (again, not illegal - brochures have disclaimers regarding specification changes without prior notice), so this again could explain it.

Regarding the difficulty in retrieving details - well the car may well have had a plate change (either at first registration, or prior to you buying it), and DVLA's database is just that bit more up to date. HPI's report should also give comfort that all is well.

Enjoy your purchase.

This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
