I have (well SWMBO did) just had ours fall off in torrential rain tonight.
Following advice here, I have:-
Greased the spindles with Motorcycle spray chain gease which runs in nicely.
Staked around the edge of the offending cup & greased both ends.
Put a cable tie loosely at the wiper end to replicate the bungee suggestion. Will post later (hopefully) to advise how successful I was.
