In my experience the onboard computer can be wayward at the best of times:
It is actually possible to get a zero mpg reading

52 mpg at 70mph sounds similar to what I expect - don't forget the Modus has aerodynamic qualities similar to a brick

I have the same Modus as you with a similar mpg round town, and although I do some long distance runs, mine does seem to better 52mpg. That said I havent checked it specifically but I wouldnt trust the on board computer. Apparantly (info from dealer) you have to constantly re set it and faph about.......simply cant be arsed...

All I can say is that I estimate mine well above 60 on a run...

fuel consumption

i also have the 1.5 dci 86 and was disappointed to find it no more economical than the 2.0 diesel Vectra estate I had before which would comfortably do 45mpg when driven "normally". I can just about squeeze 52 from the Modus driving very very gently, but I could probably have done that in the vectra if I'd driven it like that.

Seems about the same driven urban or on m'way at 70.

Quite disappointing really

I Hi Just bought 1.5 dci dyn Grand Scenic 100bhp. 11,500 on the clock 6500 to service. The problem is the average mpg is a stagering low 36mpg. Any advice would be grateful, the spec i read was 43mpg urban & 55 mpg extra urban.
