Espace - should I buy one?!

Hey guys.

Thinking about buying an espace on an 01-02 plate, and been reading a few reviews on parkers and whatcar, and whatcar have mentioned a few problems with them that are kind of putting me off.

I just wondered should I consider buying one, and what should I look out for? What is the best engine size and spec to get etc?

Any advice would be appreciated!

If you really want the space comfort and style of an Espace, then you'll buy one regardless of their reliability record.

I would recommend a manual car for reliability and go for a petrol engine as they are more plentiful. I have had three V6 petrols in a row. All have need new auto boxes, two have needed the instrument pack replacing 500, and two have needed the air bags computer replacing (another 500).

To change the cambelt or spark plugs on a 3 litre V6, the engine needs to be removed which is very expensive - my last one was 1300.

So, in all, I'd say a 2 litre manual petrol is your safest, but least exciting, bet. Get the electrics checked!!
