Scenic 05 Servicing

Is a renault scenic worth considerably more with dealer history vs independent??? By that i mean if i were to spend 1500 over 5 years with dealership would it worth that much more than with independent history?

I'd say (in my opinon) that it might make a bit of difference, probably, a couple of hundred quid ?

But then if the independant garage used genuine parts, then maybe not.

Personally I'd never go to Renault for a service, as the mechanics (or fitters as they should be called) are more than likely not as experienced as the independant garage mechanic, plus the prices are stupidly expensive at Renault.

Try to calculate what your car may be worth in 5 years time against what you are likely to spend - have a close look at the overall costs - sometimes depreciation is the biggest cost over that time

Depends on how old the car will be at time of sale. The price of a 10 year old Scenic will be the same regardless of dealer or independent history.

If it is only 4 or 5 years old, then there will be some difference, but the overriding factor will be the condition and mileage. A nice straight clean example with independent history is always going to be worth more than a tatty workhorse with full dealer history.

Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow...

Wanna see what I drive? No pics of the latest Passat, but you can see the Scenic II here and the CB1000R here!

Previous Passat here and Bandit here.
