It is more than possible I'm afraid.
If you have any doubt about the MOT then there are details on how to appeal the decision on the reverse of the pass sheet.If you appeal,what will happen is you will be asked to take the car to a specified MOT station where you will be greeted by a tester from VOSA.You (and the garage that originally tested the car) will be invited to view the person from VOSA carry out a full MOT on the vehicle,from there you will be told the results and what action will be taken.
I can honestly say that 99% of the vehicles I passed came with an advisory note,for a car to not have one for three years on the trot is pushing it a little.
Just out of interest,what age is the car?.
I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
