Smile Reverse lights fuse

Hello everyone.i have a 03 lagunaII mirage 1.9 DCI.
The reverse lights aren't working amd I tried the bulb which is fine. The terminal in the reverse light isn't getting power so I think its the fuse but I can;t seem to find the fuse on the fuse panel.A mate of mine says its in the gear box.Has anyone any experience with this problem and how to fix it.

I doubt the fuse is in the gearbox, I may be wrong but it's a stupid place for a fuse if it is, these are French cars though

More likely the SWITCH for the reverse lights is not working, this tends to be located at the bottom of the gearstick at the linkage in my experience, can't be sure if this is the case with your car, hopefully another person will clarify the switch location as I think it can be located on/in the gearbox.....hmmmm

There's a common(ish) fault with the Lag 2's with the switch controlling the reverse lights and the starter mechanism. Ususally people post that they need to press the clutch to get the car to start, rather than faulty reverse lights tho. The switch is on the gearbox.
