I took in the Laguna the other day to have the speedo changed. They told me they would need the car all day, fine as i got a car on loan.5 insurance though. They rang me 4 hours later to give me the price of the job , which they had already quoted, and could they go ahead, idiots, . 1 HOUR later all done pick up your car. 1 HOUR and 100 labour. When picking up the car , a little damage to the dash, so hang on a mo we will have a look.---------------------------------------------------------- 30 minutes later, hello i,m the service manager shall we take a look, and be patronised, ?

I agree ,do the French get the same crappy deals as us Brits, never again.

Why do these dealers never have a customer satisfaction chart in the reception, oh silly me, they would be out of business in no time.

I reckon we should act more like our German neighbours and if we are not happy, blow the bl---y roof off.

The same goes for the dealer that sold me the car, after some poor work, oh dear, sorry, when you come back for a service perhaps we can do you a little deal, little bl---y deal indeed, will i go back? not on your bl---y life. Yes i did blow my top, only to be patronised , does this sound as if you have heard this before.

Absolutely - it's our fault.

We demand more gadgets. Look at Sat Nav, it's standard in a lot of run of the mill cars. Who would dream of buying a new car which didn't have electric windows and Aircon?

Cars have become so complex that is it any wonder that they go wrong so much, especially as manufacturers cut costs as much as possible, often resulting in a reduction in quality.

Why weren't we happy with what we had?

In many ways I admire Renault for their use of technology but they are on a slippery slope if they don't give good service.

As a marketing man if I were running a dealership I would use every opportunity to get people through the door to show them how good I was and make it hard for them not to buy/use me again. Regretably a lot of dealers don't think like that.

The worst service I've had for as long as I can remember has been from Mercedes, my 2004 model E Class was a pain in the ar$e, never ending trouble - the dealership made it unbearable and so it went. I still have a 1997 Merc C Class which has done 102,000 miles and is a superb car, proof again that they have made them over complex and cut down on the cost of making them.

Vote with your feet - if there is another dealer in your area, use it - they are not always the same!

My Renault dealer has been very good, I've had the odd problem with the Espace but they've sorted it each time and have exceeded or at least lived up to my expectations, not that they are very high anymore

There you go, I've got it off my chest too

Hi again Chaps,
Nice to know someone cares.!
As for taking the car to another dealership? There doesn't seem to be one.
If anyone knows better please let me know.

These are the Renault cars that I have had, over the years, the only problems were batteries & exhausts, oh and a top hose.
Edit: Sorry, I have also had tyres.

Renault 10
Renault 12
Renault 16, I've had two of these. ****
Renault 20 ****
Renault 21 I had this one in 1988 until 1997 on the original exhaust ****
Renault Lag Mk1 2.2 RTDT **** 1997 until now.

Wow just changed the above for a Lag 2 GT 150 dCi

Car's marked thus **** above have been frequently used towing caravans.
In the time I had the Lag 1 no other car with a caravan on the back ever past me on the highways motorways, and I do!! Mean none!!

I've had 8 Renault's, my Father in law, he's had 11, all one after the other.

BTW yes, I had seen Parker's boards before I got the 150 dCi, but the history of 19 Renault's both my Father in law and I have owned, is first hand.
Maybe I / we have been lucky, but I can only reflect on mine and my FILs history, if the dCi goes belly up maybe I'll start a rant on Parkers boards.
Without criticism and In good faith.
Nuff said.
Currently in hondo's garage:
1.6 Valve-Matic SR. Red hot, toasty feet.
