My 55-reg Clio dCi 80 has now completed 66,000 trouble-free miles in just under four years and runs exactly as it did when it was new except that the economy is now rather better.
That said, 143,000 is a large mileage in anyone's book and to be worth purchasing, the car must have an impeccable service history (serviced every few months at that mileage rate) and be cheap.
But, don't let any questions about reliability put you off. Renaults are fantastic in this regard in my experience.

A car thats done 143,000 miles is I guess obviously company owed, it would concern me greatly with this or any other breed of Renault dCi cars careless cold starts and hot shut downs, so no I'm sorry I wouldn't go anywhere near it. This opinion is based on my experience with a 2.2 dCi Mk2 Laguna even though I'm fully familiar with taking care during both of the above operations the turbo went before the car had completed the required mileage for the first service to take place. @ Renaults prices with the car outside of the warranty you're looking at 2000, and that is if your lucky enough to stop the racing lump before the turbo consumes all the engine oil within the sump.
