my clio 197

hi every one. ive had my 197 just over a week now and i love it but there is a couple of things that i want to make shure are normal. when i accelate qwickley my radio seems to turn its self up the numbers dont actully change but it definatly gets louder is this a setting i can change or is some thing up? also when i push down on the accelarator pedal as it gets three quarters of the way down it feels a bit stiffer for the last bit. Thank you for your opinions.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

If the radio is the same as the early type units they do get louder as you go faster, this was switchable on the earlier units too.

Not sure about the throttle on your car,but on other Renaults the last part of the throttle that your finding which is stiff isn't giving you any more throttle.

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....

Strange thought so bear with me, but could the throttle pedal be a cross-platform type - used for both Auto and Manual cars?

For example:

The last few inches as Lag says would (on a manual) give no change in acceleration, whereas on an Auto this stiff area is the area where the kickdown switch is activated and the Autobox drops down a gear? But with Manuals not needing a Kickdown switch, it is just a redundant area that gives stiffened play but not extra acceleration?

Just my 2p

Also - Lags is spot on with the radio - Auto Volume Levelling - I know in my Clio Mk2 on the original Tuner List, this could be turned off by going into "Expert Mode" on the Headunit - the manual for your Radio should explain where to find this option
