Bodge Up!

I thought I'd share this little gem with you all.

This is from underneath a Laguna 1 we had in today, rather than replacing the corroded fuel tank strap with a new one from Renault for 20,or even a second hand one for a couple of quid, they had decided to do this rather impressive bodge job......

The chain definately would have held the weight of a full tank, but if you look closely the chain is actually joined together at it's ends with cable ties.

Luckily this Lag 1 is going to it's final resting place,it's off to the recycling plant tomorrow.

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....

What's that they say a chain is only as strong as?

Oh yes, the cable ties holding it together!

I'm surprised the person who did this didn't think outside the box - nailing the chain in place would've worked so much better...

This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.

I think a better solution would have been to fill the tank to capacity (to make sure it didn't sag under load) and then weld each end together and to the tank as well, much safer............
