Sorry for the bad news.

JTL60 Take heed of Bigstu's above sentence pushing the stop / start button or taking the key card out won't stop the racing engine, when the turbo finally fails the engine is consuming its own engine sump oil , with obvious end result's

Just to rub the salt into the wound,
That whining sound is metal rubbing on metal "Worn Bearings", also the blade catching the turbo housing because the shaft has lots of play due to the worn bearings. There will be bit's of sheared off metal being sucked into the engine and cat. Not good

Anyone agree ?

I was right, then. How many miles has your car done? This potential for catastrophe seems ridiculous for a car so young.

Contact Renault. This is a known problem and should be covererd to some degree even if out of warrenty. There have been many similar posts the majority of which have been resolved successfully. Welcome to the forum BTW.
