Re: Renault Scenic Purchasing Advice

I did a lot of research 3 years ago when our Scenic. The key thing is to carry on from the start you have made. i.e. Research 1st. I trawled the forum for common faults and models that were problematic etc, before making a decision, then I test drove everything I could even if it looked battered and over price.
Reason? Simple, the more I drove the easier it was to find the faults.
The result? I have a x reg Scenic Monaco 2l. Full leather seats, loaded with toys, never let me down (yet) only needed to replace exhaust and tyres so far.

Re: Renault Scenic 1 - Buying Advice

Check the metal bar that runs across the underneath of the car in front of the rear wheels as this can rust and disintergrate. It's no big deal as it's cheap and easy to replace. Also check the tyres are in good condition as they are probably the original tyres.
At that mileage the car will have been stood still a lot of it's life which isn't a good thing.
Full service history on a 16k car doesn't really add up to much as it's probably only been serviced twice.
