I'm not sure about my first two cars, but I ran up 93K from new in the Astra, 101K from new in the Mazda, 101K on the first Laguna (which had 20K on it when I got it) and 118K from new on the second. Only 84K on the previous one, and the current one has just gone in for its 18K service.

A little bit of adding up, and that's a tad short of half a million miles. That's a lifetime's worth of driving for the supposed average motorist

The scariest part is that, at today's prices, that'd be about 50 grand's worth of fuel.

Not a Renault I know but my Saab 9000 Turbo has 225,000 miles on the clock and the motor is still as sweet as a nut.
I did see a Peaguet 405 go through the auctions a few years back with over 400,000 on the clock.....

people always say how good VW Saab and Volvo engines are.. but not sure about Renault..
Cant remember exactly, but I think many Volvo engines from the 60's,70's,80's & early 90's were Renault units.

Not a Renault but I had a Volvo 244DL that had 237000 miles on it when I sold it to a taxi driver from Kilmarnock!

Saw it a couple of years later and it was still running.

I drove a Cadillac Sedan deVille in San Francisco last year courtesy of Avis. Its Northstar V8 had only done 2000 miles, but it only required a major service every 100,000 miles. I was led to believe that, if looked after, 400,000 miles would be easily attainable.

Our 1.9dci 120bhp Laguna 2004 was 2 yrs old yesterday and has done 27,300 miles.

Our Peugeot 206cc is 3 yrs 3 months old and has just turned 15,000 on the clock, it only had 7000 miles on the clock when we bought it 12mths ago!

Most miles I have driven in one car is 66,00 miles on a1987 1.6escort ghia, it had 32,000 miles on the clock when I bought it and 98k when I sold it. Only ever had to replace tyres, exhaust and brakes - most reliable car I have ever owned. It also had lots of toys for its age - central locking, electric heated mirrors, elctric windows,tilt/slide sunroof and radio/tape with separate power amp & uprated speakers ( std Ford fit) also proper deep pile carpet ( not like the cr@p you get today).

My Lag1 Ph2 has done 131,000.

We look after a fleet of taxis for a local company, and they have a Fiat Ulysse with 360,000 miles on it.It's been pensioned off now and only does local runs. The cloth on the drivers seat has gone shiney where people have got in and out of it so much! They also have Peugeot 406 and 806 HDi's which have all done 200k plus(and not one turbo failure between them............)
