Hello and welcome to the forum.....let's hoipe you won't be disappointed with the Megane. Remember though, all that money you're saving on the tax can go towards any repairs.......I'm kidding

Thumbs down Re: Buying my first french car!

We have now got the second Laguna we bought and thought that we were unlucky with the problems with the first, situation now is Laguna is sat in garage needing replacement wiring loom(1,500) for a fault (dangerous - car cuts out in middle of mainstream traffic - thank the lord we have no children in it) but we have no guarantee that the loom replacement will fix the problem and as this problem is mainly 2.00 litre Lagunas and not 1.8 Renault seem to be dragging their heels with this, we feel trading standards etc is our next port of call, so no we could not recommend that you buy French!

Re: Buying my first french car!

Well I've got the car.. Its off my mate who's a dealer and he's given me two weeks to make up my mind before I pay for it, how ever it does have a couple of niggly problems! Starting from cold is a pig, it takes ages to 'fire' and then it runs like a dog for about 2 minutes.. The fuel line after the filter looks really 'frothy' but I assume thats because there is no scavenge pump on the 1.5?
