IDE For Ever

Thought i would add a few comments now that i have been driving my 2.0IDE for 5 months and driven nearly 10k.

I am very happy with the car - so far there have been no mjor problems The only problem that i have had is an intermttent missing front wheel [according to the tyre pressure sensor] - it usually reappears after a few miles. Once i was told a fully inflated tyre was flat - it took 24hours for that to solve its-self

My only complaints are with speed and economy - especially compared with my old Vectra 2.5 [1999 117k] and my wifes 2.0l 5 Series [1998 108k]

I get around 35/36mpg if i stick to 70mph, go any faster and consumption drops to 30. my top speed seems to be around 105 [eventually] The Vectra and BMW both go well upto around 110 and consumption remains in the 35mpg range. Must admit i am surprised at the difference

Overall I love the car and have no regrets about going IDE . Incidently the last service cost about 50% of the other two

Thumbs up thumbs up for ide

Good to hear your comments about your Laguna ide .
I have had mine for about 3 years now and has been very reliable I have had the odd annoying fault like my passenger window stuck in safe mode . As for the engine no problems and I have just done 80,000 miles and runs like a dream on the motorway get about 35 mpg at 80mph the engine doesn't like round town driving as mpg drop to 29 mpg . This engine got a stick by some people but allot of this was due to poor maintenence and renault sticking 17,000 service gaps on the car and then people sticking the wrong plugs in the car causing the engine to carbon up .

As for performance mine will easily do 120-130 on the motorway 0-60 isnt blistering thoe but pulls nice and steady right the way through .
If you have the initiale spec you have a top car the only thing that puts me off buying another renault is the aftersales service and the service costs 89 an hour labour lol are they having a laugh my local garage charges me 30 an hour and takes greater pride in there work .

Thanks ide man
