Question Renault Spark Plugs Only? Laguna II

Just been reading a couple of threads and it is mentioned about NOT using anything but Renault spark plugs.

Now the threads in question are talking about the 2.0 IDE and mine is only the 1.8 but could this be the same on mine?

Reason I ask is this ridiculous on/off problem I have with the electronic fault light and also now the toxic fume filter light.

Before I bought the car the garage had it jetwashed and the pillocks did under the bonnet. It was awful and basically wouldn't run or idle. They replaced the spark plugs and shoved it in their body shop oven and it was all fine (I thought!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Could the plugs be causing my weird problem by causing in effect misfires?

I think most of your problems stem from the pillocks at the garage

Your not wrong and then being compounded by the pillocks at Renault!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers Alex21 will get them to check them next week as I don't have a clue what they should be with no Haynes book out yet!!!!!

Only strange thing in all this is the only fault EVER logged is the motorised throttle body and shows as unidentified problem!

Not sure if coils or plugs throwing a wobble would cause the throttle body to wobble and give that fault if that makes sense!

Tranzic: Jet washing the K4/F4 engines is fatal.. Water get down into the sparkplug/ coil wells and shorts the coil out so you get a misfire..

The 1.8 is renouned for lumpy idle due primarily to the throttle body .. A new body is available that should cure the problem. But note that there is a special injection computer programming disc for the new type body that only a dealer can use..
