My tuppence worth while I'm on this evening :)

If the main fuses are ok have you checked to see if there are individual fuses in line from the actual lighter in question?

If not or it isn't then would have to be wiring lose surely?

Maybe dirt/corrosion inside where the lighter sits? Had that before in my Pug.

Well hope it helps

That's true hondo.

Also the main fuse, I would imagine covering all your power points front to back so I was thinking more in terms of an in-line fuse maybe but the only way you'll know (unless someone flags up in here) is by taking it out and having a look behind.

Either way, and without sounding funny, it is something silly it has to be.

Thinking about it, if the Scenic is like the Laguna I'm pretty sure I remember WebCode mentioning that there is an in-line fuse behind the front ash tray, I guess this wouldn't make the car service light come on if it was blown, it could be worth a try.

Sorry to contradict everyone, but the fuse for the cigar lighter is in the main fuse box.If you have a handbook it will tell you which fuse controls which circuit. If not, make sure you have the radio code, and pull the fuses out one at a time. The blown fuse will be obvious under close observation. If all the fuses are OK,then the lighter it's self is faulty. You'll need a test light or multimeter to see if you have lost either the positive or negative connection.

I can tell u which fuse it is i think i have a 2000 reg scenic and have just gone to the car to check my fuse diagram. It says it is above the second one in from the right at hhe bottomblue fuse i think. But.... it controlls the cigar lighter RADIO and instrument illumination and clock!! so u will loose your radio for a while. Im sure u can get the code from Renault. I have had to do it for a car i had once.

If your radio and clock etc are working tho the fuse cannot be blown can it??

Hope this helps.

Just a thought but i could give u a list of all the different icons and what they are so when u remove the fuse box u can look at the diagram and know for sure which one it should be. For the cigar lighter (as the manuel calls it) it is a pic of a radio with music notes and it is blue.
