Very, very common fault on lots of different makes and models. Usually the fault lies in a loose connection under the seat. With the ignition off (and some would even say with the battery disconnected) look under the seat. Check the connections and if possible undo them, clean them (a bit of WD40) and reconnect them

Yep, common on a lot of cars, it's the wires to the seatbelt pretentioners that cause it, the airbag works only when the seatbelt is being worn.
All cars now have seatbelt pretentioners that pull the belt tight in the event of a crash that would cause the airbag to deploy.
Light just means airbag is disabled so nothing to worry about really, it's not gonna blow up in your face.
