Unhappy Scenic 98

My scenic has started kangerooing!!! I thought it was due to running car low on fuel, but put some redex in and half filled car, and it still happened. to make matters worse, today I was coming back home, and half way up a hill the car started doing it again and the electric warning sensor apeared on the dash.

I pulled over and turned engine off, started up again, and started again, it started splutering again, so I reved the car up and it kicked into life, something started smelling burnt, but it got me home ok, with the warning light on still. so I turned the ignition off and then restarted, the warning light went off and stayed off but then my fuel guage went from just under a quarter of a tank down to the reserve line, Never had problems with fuel guage, so doubt it's to do with that. But am worried this may be costly, and I can't afford that after already having to get the gearbox rebuilt this year!!! any ideas??

Gonna try using it later tonight so we'll se what happens!

Re: Scenic 98

Hi dont know if any one has replied but it sound like the head gasket, similiar to what mine did, if you check your oil cap and there is a mayonaise type fluid it most likely will be , the only other thing I can think is if the Coils have gone that would give you the kangaroo effect, which again happened to mine.

Good luck - hope it is the coils not the head gasket as that is pricey
