Re: Laguna 3 - Misbuild from the factory...

So basically, a potential buyer would have to look at the Renault database in order to find out about the work, unless you were up front with them about it. I don't see that there's any need for you to be up front about it if the car has been modified by Renault to bring it up to standard.

Firstly: How many people check the manufacturer's database before purchasing a second-hand car? Secondly: How many people would be put off by the fact that the car had a fault which has since been repaired? Most second-hand cars will have had some faults at some time in their existence.

I'd have a good look at the Sale of Goods act if I were you. I'm sure there's something in there about the possibility of a deduction being made for the amount of time and use you've had out of the item that you're returning.

With the greatest respect in the world, it sounds to me like before you even posted your mind was already made up.

In which case I'd fight it out.

Re: Laguna 3 - Misbuild from the factory...

I wouldn't be too concerned about the repair if I were you. There is not reason to believe that the welds done on the repair would be any less structurally sound than the original.

Resale value shouldn’t be affected, even Renault can’t complain as they will have carried out the repair and assumingly deem it to be as good as original. This info won’t be seen by anyone outside the dealer network

I would however be asking for some sort of compensation for this....are there any extras you’d like for your car...perhaps a free service or two

factory , laguna , misbuild
